A grass and bush fire is burning 5km south of Bulahdelah on both sides of the Pacific Highway, northwest of Nerong. The fire is being pushed in a southeasterly direction towards **Nerong** under northwesterly winds. If you are in Nerong, check and follow your Bush Fire Survival Plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. Leaving early is your safest option. Due to an increase in fire activity, the M1 Pacific Highway has been closed in both directions between Nabiac and 12 Mile Creek.
